- Primary Directive on Information Management
The Primary Directive on Information Management (PDIM) supports the implementation of the NATO Information Management Policy (NIMP). It describes all aspects of information management in NATO at a high level. Together with the NIMP, this Directive is the cornerstone for all IM-related directives, guidelines and standards within NATO, NATO civil and military bodies and NATO-led Communities of Interest. The directive establishes the IM environment necessary for Information Superiority including its enablers such as the NATO Network Enabled Capability (NNEC). It provides direction on roles and responsibilities that are required to ensure the effective and efficient use of information resources; manages all aspects of information throughout its lifecycle; ensures the identification and preservation of information of permanent value; and enables the development and implementation of IM directives, guidance documents and information standards.
