Applicability
- POP 3 is a simpler protocol than IMAP and is designed to download messages from a mail server on the Internet to a single PC, the message is then deleted from the mail server. Use when accessing a remote E-mail mailbox on the Internet or intranet when the user has only a single computer to which all mail is down loaded.
