Applicability
The Object Request Broker (ORB) provides a mechanism for accessing objects anywhere in a distributed computing environment. It provides a method for defining objects and their interfaces. In operation, the ORB provides routing, address resolution, and authentication services, as well as parameter marshalling and conversion if necessary. The OMG has defined within CORBA 3.0 the following services
- Internet Integration;
- Quality of Service Control; and
- The CORBAcomponent architecture
